Responsibilities:
Design Leadership:
- Set the creative direction and design strategy for all interior design projects, including restaurants, hospitality spaces, and turnkey projects.
- Lead and inspire a team of interior designers, architects, and creative professionals.
- Foster a culture of design excellence, innovation, and collaboration within the design department.
- Mentor and develop junior designers, fostering talent growth and ensuring leadership continuity within the team.
- Set the long-term design vision, aligning with business growth and future project needs.
Project Development:
- Collaborate with clients, project managers, and cross-functional teams to define project objectives, requirements, and design concepts.
- Translate client needs and project goals into innovative and visually compelling design solutions.
- Oversee the development of design concepts, mood boards, and presentations.
- Ensure alignment with marketing, operations, and brand strategy teams to deliver cohesive design solutions.
Design Execution:
- Ensure the successful execution of design projects, overseeing all phases from concept development to construction and installation.
- Provide design direction and guidance throughout project lifecycles.
- Review and approve design drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Integrate sustainable design practices into all phases of the project, from materials selection to installation.
Quality Control:
- Uphold high design standards and quality control measures for all interior design work.
- Conduct regular design reviews and provide feedback to ensure design integrity and compliance with project requirements.
- Conduct post-project reviews to gather insights, lessons learned, and areas for improvement.
Client Interaction:
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the primary design contact.
- Present design concepts and proposals to clients, addressing feedback and revisions as needed.
- Track client satisfaction and ensure the delivery of projects that meet or exceed client expectations.
Budget and Resource Management:
- Develop and manage design project budgets, tracking expenses and resource allocation.
- Identify cost-effective solutions and value engineering opportunities.
- Track project performance against KPIs, including timelines, budget adherence, and client satisfaction.
Market Research:
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging design technologies, and materials to inform design decisions and strategies.
- Drive innovation through the use of emerging technologies such as VR/AR, 3D printing, or smart materials.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in interior design, with a strong portfolio showcasing a variety of successful design projects.
- Proven experience in a leadership or managerial role, including team management.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D modeling software.
- Exceptional design thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong project management and organizational abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
- Knowledge of sustainability and environmental design principles is a plus.
