Soho Hospitality Announces Appointment of Michelin Star Chef Manjunath Mural as Executive Chef of Charcoal Tandoor Grill

Charcoal Tandoor Grill today announced the arrival of Manjunath Mural as the Executive Chef of Soho Hospitality’s award winning Indian restaurant in Bangkok. Under the guidance of its Michelin starred chef, Charcoal aims to elevate gastronomical experiences revolving around its tandoor & Indian grill concept by introducing new influences and regional flavours from across India.

Starting off in different kitchens to landing a job at various five star hotels, Mural has experienced a great deal in the world of modern Indian cuisine. Throughout his career he has had the opportunity to work with renowned celebrity chefs like ‘Sanjeev Kapoor’, and ‘Vikas Khanna’. Learning and working with the best, Mural has come to Charcoal with the finest knowledge and experience to lead the restaurant towards global recognition.

In 2006, Mural was appointed as the sous chef to start up ‘The song of India’ in Singapore and had a big contribution to build an astonishing reputation for the restaurant. From there onwards Mural only saw success coming his way, and finally in 2016 he earned a Michelin star as Executive Chef for Song of India. Receiving this honour made him gain South East Asia’s first ever Michelin star for an Indian restaurant. Receiving this award fulfilled Chef Mural’s vision to “present Indian cuisine at its pinnacle on international level”, and earning this Michelin star is only a stepping stone of working towards his dreams. This same dream is what he would like to bring to Charcoal, leading them to bigger achievements.
